Behold, the last pieces of my childhood, maligned for all eternity: Star Wars Transformers.
Our five-year-old desperately wants to make jokes — she loves making us laugh, but it’s nearly always unintentional on her part.
The other night she was getting frustrated with her taco, and Rebecca said, “Don’t get upset at your taco; it’s not doing anything to you. It doesn’t have anything in mind to upset you.”
The “in mind” bit resonated with our daughter for a moment, and she said with a big grin, “I thought my taco had a BRAIN!”
This made me laugh pretty hard, which made Rebecca and her laugh pretty hard. But the best part was our daughter’s next line: “I knew my joke would getcha!”
